Simulation and Fabrication of P3HT:PCBM Solar Cell

Poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) and [6,6]-phenyl-C71 butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) polymer solar cell is studied by using GPVDM simulations experiments. The research focuses on the effects of active layer thickness structures as bulk heterojunction (BHJ) (ITO/P3HT:PCBM/Al) compared to a bilayer structure (ITO/P3HT/PCBM/Al). optimal 200 nm obtained in simulation for BHJ structure. results also indicate that heterojunctions exhibit slightly higher efficiency than with same thickness, possibly due better worthier total surface region charge separation reduced recombination between electrons holes. fabricated experiment spin coating. show speeds result thinner layer, device coated at 2500 rpm had highest power conversion 0.91 % because Isc fill factor, despite low absorption. suggest resistance, morphology play important roles carrier transport P3HT:PCBM cell.
